  5. The EMIS General Ledger Management module contains the two key ingredients of
  6. an effective General Ledger Module: ease-of-use and flexibility. The module is
  7. multicompany and multidivisional, and offers multiple user access to the same
  8. or unique companies. The General Ledger Module interfaces with every other EMIS
  9. module to provide automatic posting of transactions. These postings can be made
  10. in detail or summary. Manual entries and recurring journal entries are
  11. supported as well as automatic reversing entries. Entries can be posted to any
  12. prior, current, or future period. Users have a choice of defining up to
  13. thirteen fiscal periods. The module allows you to free-format financial
  14. statements, report on any current or prior year period, including quarters,
  15. comparisons to budget, variances in dollars and percent, percent of base,
  16. consolidations, and departmental reporting. Using a ``same-as'' feature, the
  17. financial statements can be created using similar statements and modifying only
  18. where needed.
